Mr. Aufort is a decorated veteran and served for 29 years in the French military, starting as a Cadet at the French Air Force Academy and participating in an exchange cadet program at the US Air Force Academy in 1986. From 1989 to 2000, he then progressed through roles such as Squadron Pilot, Flight Commander, and Chief of Operations, subsequently securing a role at Combat Air Force Headquarters and then at the War College in Paris. Mr. Aufort continued to advance into positions such as Squadron Commander, Chief of the Air Operations Doctrine, Director of Cabinet of the French Air Force Director of Operations, and Deputy Director of an education and training center for air operations. He served as the Crisis Management Director at the French Representation to the European Union from 2009 to 2012.

Mr. Aufort made the transition to civilian life in 2012, moving into the field of education and becoming Project Director, Professor, and Lecturer at an institution in Paris followed by a position as Director of a Private High School. Since 2017, he has worked as General Manager of a vocational training and education center in Paris, supporting the training and skills development of apprentices, employees, and job seekers. In 1995 and 2000, Mr. Aufort was awarded the NATO Medal for Service twice for work he performed in relation to the former Yugoslavia and Kosovo. He also went on temporary duty in 2004 in Afghanistan with US special forces in Bagram.
